Man charged with Warwick street shooting


A man charged with a daylight shooting at the weekend appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Daneko Cann-Hayward, 22, was charged with robbery, use of a firearm after committing an indictable offence and handling a firearm.

The offences are alleged to have happened during a robbery on Middle Road, Warwick, last Friday.

Mr Cann-Hayward, from Warwick, was not required to enter a plea because the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

The defendent appeared at an online hearing of the court, held through the Zoom app.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Mr Cann-Hayward in custody until June 1.
