A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after a crash in Devonshire yesterday.

Police were dispatched to the junction of Corkscrew Hill and Middle Road at about 10am.

A police spokesman said that it appeared the motorcycle and car collided as the car attempted to turn on to Corkscrew Hill.

The spokesman said: The injured rider, believed to be a 33-year-old Southampton man, was transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police later said the rider was in stable condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Witnesses should call police on 295-0011.
