Harris book published in Korean
An archaeology book written by Edward Harris has been published in its tenth language.
Dr Harris’s book, Principles of Archaeological Stratigraphy, had already been translated into Czech, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Slovenian and Spanish, and is now available in Korean.
The original was published in 1979, with a second edition released a decade later. A further three editions in French, Russian and Chinese are being worked on.
“It is a pleasure to see this latest edition of my book that was first published almost 40 years ago and to see that the ideas it contained are still of use to archaeologists in many parts of the world,” Dr Harris said.
The book is based on Dr Harris’s invention in 1973 of the “Harris Matrix”. It confounds many scientific discoveries and has become the industry standard in archaeological work worldwide.
