Ozzy the parrot is found dead
A pet parrot missing since last month has been found dead.
Stephanie Rego said Ozzy, her nine-year-old African grey parrot, was found in a driveway near her Devonshire home.
Ms Rego said the loss of the bird was like “the loss of a best friend”.
She added: “The house is so quiet — but I still feel like I can hear her.”
Ms Rego said she had received “overwhelming support from our community” in her efforts to track down the missing bird.
She added: “It wasn’t only friends and family out searching, but complete strangers with such concern for me and Ozzy”.
Ms Rego said that despite the sad end to the search, her “soul is changed for ever” by the kindness and support people had shown.
She added: “I have made so many new friends for life.
“I will try and find a way to give back to this community.”
