911 back up - but main number still down
The 911 emergency number is back in service, a police spokesman said tonight.
He was speaking after the 911 service and the main police number 295 0011 both shut down.
Police earlier said that both numbers were back in service.
But a police spokesman later said that the main number was still out service and that people should use 295-0012, 295-0064 or 292-7403 for non-emergency calls instead.
The spokesman added: “We would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
