The Bermuda Triathlon Association’s incumbent directors and executive members were returned unopposed at its annual meeting at the BAA clubhouse on Monday night.
Continuing in their roles are Steven Petty, president, Ian Pilgrim, vice-president, Sharon Hammond, Bermuda Olympic Association representative, Andrew Davis, race calendar and sponsor relations, Alec Shepherd, World Triathlon Series liaison, and Aaron Smith, the WTS sponsor/volunteer coordinator.
The returning executives are Charlie Duffy, treasurer, Sharon Craig, secretary, Tina Rowse, Bermuda Sport Anti Doping Authority/newsletter, and Patty Petty, the ITU/BOA relations.
The BTA is inviting expressions of interest from triathletes who wish to be considered for nomination for the National Junior Athlete Sponsorship Award.
The award provides financial assistance to one junior athlete from each Sport National Governing body, who demonstrates commitment, performance and potential to become an elite athlete. To be eligible for sponsorship, the nominee must be under the age of 18 (December 31, 2018) and be a registered Bermudian. To nominate a triathlete, e-mail Ian Pilgrim at firstname.lastname@example.org by February 12.
