Minors leaps into next round in Colombia

Ki-Juan Minors has got through to the second qualifying stage of the showjumping at the Central American and Caribbean Games equestrian competition in Bogotá, Colombia.
The 36-year-old Bermudian finished 26th on Just Ask Eric in a time of 87.69sec, with 12 jump penalties, in the first qualifier yesterday.
Francisco Pasquel, of Mexico, led the way on Naranjo, in a time of 66.58, just 0.21sec ahead of Alvaro Tejada Arriola, of Argentina, on Dolly Palo Blanco.
Pablo Barrios, of Venezuela, rounded out the top three on Le Vio in 67.41.
Bermuda boxer Tyler Christopher faces Luis Rodriguez, of Puerto Rico, in the quarter-finals of the middleweight division today. The southpaw received a bye in the round of 16.
